Born in Brescia, she lives between Rome and Milan. She wrote the novels Il plagio (2000),

She is also the author of the essay Il piacere tra le righe (2003), of the stories of TIC. Tipi Italiani Contemporanei (2006), of La cena delle meraviglie with the gourmet critic Allan Bay (2007) and of Vini, amori with Gelasio Gaetani d’Aragona (2014). Collaborates with the “Corriere della Sera” and with “Grazia”. She teaches creative writing at the Molly Bloom School.
Writer, successful screenplay writer, journalist, a past as a lawyer. Diego De Silva is one of the most interesting voices of contemporary Italian literature. For Einaudi he has published the novels La donna di riserva (2001), Certi bambini (2001, Campiello prize selection), Voglio Guardare (2002), Da un’altra carne (2004), Non avevo capito niente (2007, Premio Naples – Book of the year; Strega award finalist), Mia suocera beve (2010), Sono contrario alle emozioni (2011), Mancarsi (2013), Terapia di coppia per amanti (2015), Divorziare con stile (2017), Superficie (2018), I valori che contano (avrei preferito non scoprirli) (2020).
Certi bambini became a film in 2004 directed by Andrea and Antonio Frazzi, a film winner of the European Film Award and of two Davide di Donatello; from Terapia di coppia per amanti in 2017 a homonymous film was directed by Alessio Maria Federici.
His stories have appeared in the Deserters, Crimes and Italian Crimes anthologies. A collection of mystery stories was released in 2014 entitled Criminal Games, where his text Patrocinio gratuito appears alongside those of De Giovanni, De Cataldo and Lucarelli.
He collaborates with the newspaper Il Mattino, the weekly magazine L’Espresso and the cultural insert Tuttolibri of the newspaper La Stampa. He is working on new projects in the field of television drama.
His books are translated into England, France, Spain, Germany, the Netherlands, Portugal, Greece, Israel, Serbia, USA.
