Live of words and music
with Roberto Angelini
Presents Boris Sollazzo
Presents Boris Sollazzo
Born in Rome in 1975, he grows up in close contact with music thanks to a patron grandfather and a swing guitarist stepfather. He does a lot of apprenticeship, ranging from jazz, to rock, even to heavy metal and begins to open concerts for artists such as Jarabe de Palo, Max Gazzè, Marina Rei and Carmen Consoli.
In 2001 he takes part in the 51st edition of the Sanremo Festival in the New Proposals section with the song Il Sig. Domani, winning the Mia Martini Critics’ Award. It is the single Gattomatto, which becomes the smash of summer 2003, to give him enormous popularity.
In 2005 Pong Moon was released, a tribute album to Nick Drake with violinist Rodrigo d’Erasmo: an important turning point, not only for the choice to use English only, but also for the sounds that completely distance him from those of the previous single.
Meanwhile, Angelini becomes one of the most popular session workers in the world and his collaborations are many, from Pino Marino to Niccolò Fabi, to whom he is still linked by a close friendship. In 2008 he founds Fiori Rari, a label that over time will produce artists such as Margherita Vicario, Andrea Rivera, Luca Carocci and the Discoverland project, together with Pier Cortese. He also takes part in the recording of the Volume I album of the Angelo Mai Collective – Orchestra Mobile di Canzoni e Musicisti, a collective created by a large group of Roman artists linked to the social center Angelo Mai Occupato .
After the collaboration with Fabi for Solo un uomo and the first performance on the stage of May Day, the musician writes Calore, chosen as the single of his first EP by Emma, with whom he starts a collaboration that will last over time.
In 2009 he releases his third album of unreleased songs entitled La vista concessa. The next album Phineas Gage gives a lot of space to electronics and contains jewels like Cenere.
From March 2013 he joins the work team of the Gazebo and Propaganda Live television programs, conducted by Diego Bianchi.
