The competition is one of the central spaces of Linea d’Ombra Festival: a meeting point where works, filmmakers and audiences come together to read the present through images.
The 31st edition renews this vocation with four competition sections dedicated to new forms of contemporary cinema and audiovisual production: Passaggi d’Europa, CortoEuropa, OpenSpace and UniFest.
From European feature films to short works, from young filmmakers from Campania to international university creativity, the competition becomes a space for research and exchange, where different languages engage with the theme PLAY — Let’s Get Involved and with the possibility of imagining new narrative, aesthetic and cultural paths.
PASSAGGI
D’EUROPA
A section dedicated to first and second works produced in Europe between 2025 and 2026, across fiction, documentary and animation, with no genre restrictions.
CORTO
EUROPA
The festival’s historic section, dedicated to around twenty European fiction, animation or documentary short films, with a maximum running time of 20 minutes.
OPEN
SPACE
OpenSpace — Banca Campania Centro Award is the competition dedicated to fiction, animation or documentary short films made in Campania by directors under 36.
UNIFEST
An international contest for university students, dedicated to short audiovisual works made with digital technologies and divided into the Italian Job and Stile Libero categories.
WHO DECIDES
The competing films will be evaluated by expert juries and popular juries, the latter composed of film enthusiasts who actively participate in the life of the Festival each year. Serving on a jury means watching, discussing, exchanging views, and making choices. In other words: getting personally involved.
