A reflection on Guy Ernest Debord (1931-1992), visionary and “bad teacher” of radical thought, who revealed, with surprising foresight, the logic of performance that today shapes algorithms, social networks and augmented reality. In particular, a journey through his cinema, or rather a visual cartography for those who wish to consciously lose themselves and rediscover reality beyond staging.

BIO
ALFREDO PIO DI TORE
Professor of Media Education at the University of Cassino and Southern Lazio. His research investigates the relationships between education, physicality and technology, a threshold through which various forms of elaboration pass – gender studies, critical race studies, postcolonial studies, disability studies, cyborg studies – which question the concept of man developed by modern humanism, overcoming anthropocentrism as a trademark of the West.
ALFONSO AMENDOLA
Professor of Sociology of Cultural Processes at the University of Salerno, where he directs the Open Class Laboratory. University & Territory. A scholar of contemporary issues, he focuses on avant-garde cultures, generational mass consumption, visual studies and mediology of literature (topics on which he has published numerous essays and monographs). Editor of international journals. In addition to his academic activities, he has other professional interests: he is the contact person for the international Punk Scholars Network project, a member of the Club Tenco Jury, and is involved in cultural management and journalism (collaborating with the daily newspaper Il Mattino and Rai Television).
