The masterclass with free admission is open to a maximum of 60 participants.
To participate in the Masterclass it is necessary to book on Linea d’Ombra Festival | Eventbrite.
The masterclass in Film Criticism will provide participants with useful tools for a conscious reading of audiovisual languages, illustrating the fundamentals of contemporary film criticism.
Participants will individually write a short critical text, which will be delivered to the evaluation committee within the day following the masterclass.
The most deserving review will be awarded during the final evening of Linea d’Ombra Festival|Unifest scheduled for Friday 28 October 2022 at 20:30.
Augusto Sainati
Augusto Sainati is professor of film history, theory and analysis at the Suor Orsola Benincasa University of Naples.
He was coordinator of the Neapolitan unit of the CNR national research (1995-98) on the history of cinema entertainment in Italy and he has written about cinema for radio broadcasts (Rai), daily newspapers (‘Il giornale d’Italia’, ‘Il Sole 24 Ore’), periodicals and books.
The latest texts he wrote are Analizzare i film (2007, written with Massimiliano Gaudiosi) and Il cinema oltre il cinema (2011).
