A ROAD TO THE RIGHT TO READ
A workshop designed by Angela Albarano to reflect creatively on the right to read. Created with the support of the Carisal Foundation, in collaboration with the University of Salerno, the Audiovisual Storytelling Laboratory (LABSAV), the Department of Political Science and Communication (DISPC-POLICOM) and with the patronage of the University Cinema Council (CUC).

WORKSHOP RESERVED FOR SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENTS – MAX 50 PEOPLE.
The workshop, conceived and led by Angela Albarano, invites participants to reflect on the right to read as a key to accessing knowledge, freedom and the construction of the imagination. Through creative activities inspired by texts awarded prizes at the latest edition of the Libro Aperto Festival, secondary school students become protagonists in a journey that intertwines reading, autobiography and citizenship.
Through narrative maps, social reading and the creation of “manifestos of the right to imagination”, the workshop promotes peer discussion, inclusion and conscious use of digital languages, restoring reading to its social and emancipatory role.

ANGELA ALBARANO
Cultural event manager and teacher of Italian Literature in secondary schools. For over twenty years she has been involved in the conception and organisation of festivals and cultural projects in Italy. She is the creator and artistic director of Libro Aperto – Festival della Letteratura per Ragazzi (Open Book – Children’s Literature Festival), which every year involves schools, families and authors in a community and reading experience. She has collaborated with the Municipality of Salerno and with important institutional and cultural entities, carrying out innovative initiatives related to youth culture and sustainability. She is a trainer in postgraduate courses and master’s programmes on macro-planning of events, communication and new languages. She is currently a PhD student in Politics and Communication (XL cycle) at the University of Salerno with a study dedicated to Children’s Literature Festivals.
