Navid was born in Teheran, Iran. He has played famous literature characters in different theater plays and has also worked on several TV & film productions. In 2003 Navid earned a nomination in the category “Best Actor in a Leading Role” for his performance in “Fremder Freund” (directed by Elmar Fischer), also in competition that year in Linea d’Ombra festival. Navid gave his Hollywood debut playing alongside Adrien Brody, Salma Hayek and Shohreh Aghdashloo in the 2016 released film “Septembers of Shiraz“. “For a Moment Freedom” (directed by Arash T. Riahi) in which Navid plays one of the leading roles counts over 30 prizes at several international film festivals and was the Austrian entry for the Oscars in 2010. Navid also works as a director.
Born in Salerno, he moved to Rome at the age of 16 to attend various acting courses. He immediately began writing screenplays and developing an interest in directing. Still twenty, he made some small short films. In addition to Italy, he studied acting and directing in New York and Los Angeles. He graduated in Economics and later also in Political Science. After a career that had already begun as an actor, he began his career as a director, directing the web series Forse Sono Io (in which he also appears as an actor), which got a good response on the web, so much so that it was subsequently broadcast on MTV. Ford notes this, entrusting him with the advertising campaign of the new Ford Ka for the web and in 2014 he directed the sci-fi short Memories. In 2013 he was the protagonist in the film Niente Può Fermarci, in which he plays a boy with Tourette’s syndrome. Together with his sister Rossella Alfieri, he is co-founder of the film production company Guinesia Pictures.
Daughter of the Venetian actor Francesco Carnelutti, Valentina Carnelutti is an Italian and international actress and screenwriter. She has worked with directors such as Marco Tullio Giordana (La Meglio Gioventù), Theo Angelopoulos (La Polvere del Tempo), Paolo Virzì (Tutta La Vita Davanti and La Pazza Gioia for which she was a finalist at the Nastri D’Argento and nominated for the David di Donatello), Citto Maselli (Le Ombre Rosse), Angelo Orlando (Sfiorarsi), Carlo Lavagna (Arianna, for whom she was a finalist at the Nastri d’Argento) and many others. On television she was the protagonist of several series including Squadra Antimafia and the most recent Amore Pensaci Tu, borrowed from the Australian series House Husbands. As a director she directed the documentary Melkam Zena – Buone Notizie, produced by Action Aid, the video clip for Francesco Tricarico’s single The consequences of Naivety as well as Recuiem (winner of numerous international festivals). She voiced the protagonists of several films.
